Job Title: Cellarperson/Packaging Lead

Hours: Full Time & Part Time Availability

Location: Hacienda’s Brewery in Baileys Harbor, WI

Reports To: Director of Brewing Operations

We are seeking a passionate, self-motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented individual to join our small production team in Baileys Harbor, WI as our Cellarperson and Packaging Lead. Our production staff is cross trained and spends time on our 15-barrel brewhouse, in our barrel cellar, and on our canning/bottling lines.

The Cellarperson and Packaging Lead will be responsible for all duties involved with the fermentation cellar and packaging beer. This role’s primary responsibility is to ensure beer is of the highest quality possible from fermentation to package.

The Cellarperson and Packaging Lead is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing fermentation and Brite tanks, transferring beer from fermentation tanks to Brite tanks, cleaning and sanitizing kegs, adding hops/adjuncts/other additives to beer, monitoring and performing measurements on fermenting beer, carbonating beer to accurate levels, kegging beer, and operating canning/bottling lines—among many other responsibilities.

This position is also expected to assist in cleaning floors, tank exteriors, miscellaneous parts, floor drains, and containers, as well as assist in warehouse management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CIP and sanitizing tanks

  • Transfer and carbonate beer

  • Cleaning and sanitizing kegs

  • Keg beer

  • Process beers in accordance with the brew schedule

  • Perform daily gravity and pH checks on all fermenting beer

  • Harvest yeast and follow proper yeast storage protocols

  • Dry hop and add ingredients/additives to beers as needed

  • Operate Cask SAMS canning line under guidance of the Director of Brewing Operations

  • Assist in all cellar duties in the barrel cellar

  • Reorganize and consolidate kegs and cases in walk-in cooler as needed

  • Organize distribution shipments in accordance with weekly pickup and delivery schedule

  • Restock raw materials and product as needed

  • General brewery cleanliness and upkeep

  • Monitor overall cleanliness of vessels, including tanks and packaging machinery

  • Monitor valves, hardware, and gaskets on all vessels, flag if damaged and repair/change as needed.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience working in a professional brewery.

  • Ability to work within a robust safety culture.

  • Must be a dedicated hard worker with a level head.

  • Must be naturally driven to remain organized and keep a tidy and clean workspace.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time very well.

  • Ability to work efficiently as a part of a highly collaborative team.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 55 lbs overhead.

  • Able to maneuver equipment in tight spaces.

  • Able to stack and maneuver 165 lb kegs.

  • Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours at a time.

  • Willingness to work in wet, hot and cold conditions

  • Able to work in tight spaces where twisting, reaching, and climbing is required.

  • Able to work in a production environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and warehouse temperature fluctuates according to the weather.
